Shortly after the cast was announced of Gladiator 2 by the interpreter Barry Keoghan, another very prestigious name is added to the production of Ridley Scott: we are talking about Denzel Washington. Deadline reported that the actor is in talks for a role.
While the role he will play with Barry Keoghan has been revealed, as far as Denzel Washington is concerned, nothing has been added about the character he would be playing. Curious about the potential role that will be assigned to the actor who has already worked with Ridley Scott in American Gangster.
We don’t know much about the production of Gladiator 2, although we learned yesterday that Barry Keoghan will play the role of Publius Septimius Geta, emperor who suffered the damnatio memoriae. The film’s former protagonist, Russell Crowe, has hinted at some plot details, though. Here is what he said:
A while ago I had dinner with Ridley Scott and we talked about the project. I know more or less what form the story will take. If you remember correctly, there is a little boy who would like to beat the gladiator, in this scene which leads to the speech ‘my name is…’. Now this little boy has grown up and become an emperor.
