A resident of Lviv, Ukraine, caused a scandal with two compatriots from Dnepropetrovsk because they spoke Russian, reports Sputnik Near Abroad on its Telegram channel. A man in Ukrainian asked one of the girls where she was from, and she replied in Russian: “from the Dnieper”. The interlocutor advised her to learn the “state language” and tried to hit her with a bag. The girl said that she was fluent in Ukrainian, but she would speak the language she wanted, and her companion suggested calling the police. The conversation ended with mutual insults. Earlier, mk.ru, citing its own source in theater circles, reported that the performance with Chulpan Khamatova at the New Riga Theater “Gogolis. Nature Morte” (based on Gogol’s story “Old World Landowners”) was canceled due to the Ukrainian language.
