“Live Nation and Roundhouse Entertainment regret to announce that Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper and Jon Stevens are unable to perform tonight’s performance at Mt. Duneed Estate, Geelong due to illness,” the statement read. “We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience caused to ticket holders. A further announcement regarding concert arrangements will be made early next week.” The statement was posted alongside a broken heart emoji.

In a subsequent Instagram post, the British music star addressed her followers personally. He revealed that he could no longer sing due to a viral infection.
“Hello my friends,” he wrote on Instagram. “I am absolutely devastated to have to disappoint my fans who bought tickets for ‘A Day On The Green’. I was told this morning that I had a viral infection and that my throat was too sore to sing .” He also asked for understanding: “I’m just a human being and sometimes I get sick, just like you.
